Blues guitarist Derek Trucks performs at the War Memorial at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are

Trucks began playing guitar at nine and by the time he was 12, he had already played with such legends as Buddy Guy. He was also sitting in with the Allman Brothers Band. In 1999, he became an official member of the band and continues to tour with them.
Trucks is a master slide guitarist, whose blues and rock roots go deep. He has recorded with the Allman Brothers, his own band, and has also collaborated with Gregg Allman, Widespread Panic, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Gov’t Mule, Elvin Bishop, and many others.
His most recent album, Already Free (January 2009), debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, and #1 on the Internet chart, No. 4 on the Rock chart and No. 1 on the Blues chart, marking the band’s highest debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart to date.

Miniature Tigers headline tonight’s rock extravaganza at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.). The concert also features Mandate of Heaven, Animal Pants , Gracious? Sakes Alive!, and Hey Madeline. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $8.
