Syracuse Beer Week kicks off Nov. 1

The annual celebration of all things beer, Syracuse Beer Week , kicks off November 1 at thesyracuse-beer-week.jpg 1060 Restaurant in the Genesee Grande Hotel. Brooklyn Brewery brewmaster, Garret Oliver, author of The Brewmaster’s Table, will be on hand for a meet and greet.

Syracuse Beer Week takes place every night of the week in various venues in the ‘Cuse, with bars offering drink specials, tastings, music, and food.

We’ll be detailing the musical entertainment in our daily Club Dates section. In the meantime, here are some highlights of the week:

Monday - Wednesday: Free samples at the Middle Ages brewery

Tuesday: Saranac and Magic Hat samplings at Green Hills Farms; Empire Beer dinner ($45) at the Empire Brewing Co.

Wednesday: Empire Brewing Co. Home Brew contest

Thursday: Great Lakes Christmas Ale Kick-Off Party at The Blue Tusk; Brewmaster dinner featuring Dinosaur Bar-B-Que at the Empire Brewing Co.

Friday: Duvel Day at the Blue Tusk

Saturday: Bratwurst Eating Contest with music by the Enzian Bavarian Band at Empire Brewing Co.
