Friday, July 31: Star Search for a Cause and more
The Hope for Heather Foundation presents a special fundraiser tonight at Meghan
MacMurphy’s (7990 Oswego Rd., Liverpool). Star Search for a Cause offers local amateur singers the chance to compete in an Idol-style sing-off for bragging rights and a $100 prize. A panel of judges will review each performance. There will also be a 50/50 drawing and raffles.
The event starts at 7 p.m. and admission is $10. Singers should arrive early to sign up. The Hope for Heather Foundation was founded in memory of Heather Weeks, who succumbed to ovarian cancer at age 24. She was an advocate for women’s cancer and committed to raising funds to find a cure. The foundation’s goal is to work towards finding a cure for this disease.
