Thursday, July 16: Square Pegs at Market Block Party and more
The weekend starts on Thursday in the ‘Cuse with the weekly Market Block Party at
the Central New York Regional Market (Park St.). This week’s entertainment lineup includes Square Pegs, Cry to the Blind, and Under the Gun.
Music starts at 6 p.m. and admission is free. Get on down and mix and mingle, enjoy some great music, food, and your favorite beverage.

Obcityan debuts tonight on the roof the parking garage at the corner of West Washington and West Streets. The Updowntowners promise something entirely different and the event is being advertised as a chance to party at Syracuse’s newest “club.” Attendees are asked to “dress to impress!” A DJ will be on hand to spin music.
Admission is $5, which will pay for one drink - either a glass of wine or beer. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m.
The Billionaires perform at tonight’s Bike Night at Performance Harley Davidson (807 N. Geddes St.). The party starts at 6 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. Catering is provided by the Limp Lizard, and along with music and food, there will be prizes, a burnout contest, and more. Admission is free.Fritz’s Polka Band is at Yorkville Park in Yorkville for a 7 p.m. show. Admission is free.
The Finger Lakes Grassroots Music and Dance Festival kicks off today at the Trumansburg Fairgrounds. All day passes for the four day event are $110. Single day passes are $40 for Thursday and Friday, $45 for Saturday, and $30 for Sunday. Click here for a schedule of all the performances.
The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra presents a special concert featuring two-time Grammy-nominated Cuban music group Tiempo Libre at the John H. Mulroy Civic Center (800 South State St.). The concert starts at 8 p.m. and tickets range from $30 to $70.
Country superstar Tim McGraw presents a special concert with proceeds to benefit the Canandaigua YMCA at the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Art Center in Canandaigua. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35, $55, and $75. (more…)
