Saturday, July 11: NYS Blues Festival kicks off in Clinton Square
The 2009 New York State Blues Fest kicks off today in Syracuse’s Clinton Square.
Today’s events include an appearance by Saturday Night Live alum and founding member of the Blues Brothers, Dan Akroyd, who will serve as emcee.
Here’s today’s lineup:
Budweiser Stage
- 1:15 p.m. - Chris Beard
- 3:30 p.m. - Popa Chubby
- 6:30 p.m. - The Alexis P. Suter Band
- 9:30 p.m - Savoy Brown featuring Kim Simmonds
Dinosaur Stage
- 12:30 p.m. - The DeLinquents
- 2:45 p.m. - The Fabulous Ripcords
- 5 p.m. - Rory Block
- 8 p.m. - J. Collins and the Kings County Band
moe at Chevy Court
Upstate New York’s own progressive rockers, moe , makes a stop in Syracuse as part of their national tour. The band performs at 7 p.m. at Chevrolet Court at the New York State Fairgrounds. Tickets are $26.
Following the concert, there will be an after party at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.) featuring the Brew with Gadabout. The party starts at 10 p.m.
Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker at Darien Lakes
Country superstars Rascal Flatts and former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman, Darius Rucker are at Darien Lakes Performing Arts Center. The show starts at 8 p.m.
Richie Havens in Earlville
Richie Havens performs at 8 p.m. at the Earlville Opera House (18 E. Main St., Earlville). Tickets are $23 to $33. (more…)
