Friday, June 26: Spyro Gyra headlines Syracuse Jazz Fest
The 27th annual Syracuse Jazz Fest kicks off today on the Onondaga Community College campus. Admission is free, but there is a $5 fee to park on campus. Food and beverages will be available for sale. 
Here’s tonight’s performance schedule:
Friday, June 26
Louis H. Everding Main Stage
- 4 p.m.: Westhill High School Jazz Ensemble
- 5 p.m.: The John Tropea Band
- 6:30 p.m.: The Randy Brecker / Bill Evans Soulbop Band with Randy Brecker, Bill Evans, Rodney Holmes, Katreese Barnes, Frank Gravis, and Mitch Stein
- 8 p.m.: The West Coast / East Coast Dream Band with David Garfield, Alex Ligertwood, Randy Brecker, Larry Klimas, Doug Bossi, Lenny Castro, Steve Ferrone, and Will Lee
- 9:30 p.m.: Spyro Gyra with Jay Beckenstein, Tom Schuman, Julio Fernandez, Scott Ambush, and Bonny B

Also tonight…
Taste of Utica kicks off tonight at Hanna Park in Utica. Tonight’s entertainment lineup includes Square Pegs (5 p.m.), Squirrel Murphy (6:20 p.m.), Dead Rose (7:55 p.m.), and Gridley Paige (9:30 p.m.).
The Old Songs Festival at the Altamont Fairgrounds in Altamont (10 miles west of Albany) also takes place this weekend. The festival features folk, traditional, Celtic and world music and dance. Tickets are $30 for each night of the show, which runs Friday through Sunday.
Heathcliff, Aaron Adair, Recurring Dream, and Roman Revival are at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.,). The concert starts at 6 p.m.
The Jam Bones perform at the Locke Field Days (Locke Fairgrounds, Locke). The show starts at 7 p.m.
