Friday, June 19: Polish Festival kicks off in downtown Syracuse and more

The annual Syracuse Polish Festival kicks off at noon with a Polish flag raising ceremony at Syracuse’s City Hall. The event, which takes place in Clinton Square, includes children’s entertainment, Polish arts and crafts, Polish food and beverages, and great entertainment.
Here’s today’s schedule:
- 4, 6, and 9 p.m.: Fritz’s Polka Band
- 5, 7, and 10 p.m.: Jerry Darlak and the Touch
- 8 p.m.: Little Poland Dance Ensemble
- 8:30 p.m.: Al PiatkowskiAdmission is free.

Phil Smo, Ahnest, and Foma are at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.) for a show starting at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Nikstock 2009 kicks off today at Thunder Mountain Speedway (Center Lisle - Whitney Point exit off Route 81). The event promises 40 bands and 100 kegs of beer! Tickets are $35 at the gate ($25 for Saturday).
No Doubt with Gwen Stefani performs tonight at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center (9993 Alleghany Road, Darien Center). Paramore opens the show, which starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $10 to $89.
Hot Club of Cowtown is at the Earlville Opera House (22 E. Main St., Earlville) for an 8 p.m. show. Tickets are $12 to $22.
The Scintas are at the Showroom at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $45, $50 and $60.
Bill Haley’s Comets are at the Vernon Downs Casino and Hotel (Routes 5 and 31, Vernon) for a 9 p.m show. Admission is free.
