Monday, May 11: Joshua Bell with the SSO

Violinist and classical music superstar Joshua Bell will perform Sain090511_bell.jpgt-Saens’ “Violin Concerto No. 3″ with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra  at the John H. Mulroy Civic Center (800 S. State St.).

Also on the program, Suppe’s “Light Cavalry Overture,” Elgar’s “Pomp & Circumstance March No. 4 in G Major,” Strauss’ “Blue Danube Waltzes,” and Liszt’s “Les Preludes.” 

Tickets range from $30 to $70. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

Also tonight, the Home Town Zeros are at Mac’s Bad Art Bar (1799 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale) at 10 p.m. and there’s an open mike with Marty Moss and Mike Roberts at Lake Effect (7 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville) starting at 8 p.m.

DJ Smegie is on hand at Singer’s Karaoke Club (1345 Milton Ave.) for an evening of karaoke starting at 9 p.m.
