Lineup announced for New York State Blues Fest; Dan Akroyd to MC
The lineup for the 2009 New York State Blues Fest was announced Monday,
and included a surprise. Saturday Night Live alum and founding member of the Blues Brothers, Dan Akroyd, will take part in the event.
Festival board president David Katleski confirmed that Akroyd will serve as master of ceremonies for the Friday edition. He is also expected to play with some of the bands.
The festival takes place July 11 and 12 in Syracuse’s Clinton Square. Admission is free.

Saturday, July 11
Dinosaur Stage - The DeLinquents (12:30 p.m.), The Fabulous Ripcords (2:45 p.m.), Rory Block (5 p.m.), J. Collins and the Kings County Band (8 p.m.)
Budweiser Stage - Chris Beard (1:15 p.m.), Popa Chubby (3:30 p.m.), The Alexis P. Suter Band (6:30 p.m.), Savoy Brown featuring Kim Simmonds (9:30 p.m.)
Sunday, July 12
Dinosaur Stage - Tas Cru and the Slow Happy Boys (12:30 p.m.), Dan Bliss (2:45 p.m.), Josh Dion Band (5:45 p.m.), Tribute to Roosevelt Dean (8 p.m.)
Budweiser Stage - Chris Bergson Band (1:15 p.m.), The Bruce Katz Band with Joe Beard (3:45 p.m.), John Mooney and Bluesiana (6:30 p.m.), John Hammond Quartet (9:30 p.m.)
