Music in the ‘Cuse

It’s the first of May and time to get out and celebrate! Here’s what’s going on.

The big event this weekend in the ‘Cuse isn’t really music related, but worthy of note nonetheless. We’re in the midst of the Syracuse International Film Festival and there are events going on all over the city.

The coolest event could be Drive-In Friday in the parking lot on Montgomery Street between Washington and Fayette Streets. The movie starts at 8:30 p.m. and there is no admission charge.

CD release party at Funk ‘n Waffles

Stop by Funk ‘n Waffles (727 S. Crouse Ave.) as Ithaca-based Revision celebrates the release of its CD Jekylll and Hyde. The party starts at 10 p.m. and admission is $5.

Andrew and Noah VanNorstrand perform at May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society (3800 E. Genesee St.) at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.

Dusty Pascal is at Onatavia United Methodist Church (Route 20, LaFayette) as part of the church’s First Friday series. Admission is free.

Christian singer Steve Green is at the North Syracuse Baptist Church (420 S. Main St.) for a 7 p.m. show. Admission is free.
