Thursday, March 26: New Kids on the Block, Charlie Hunter Trio, and much more
If you’re of a certain age, the mega-popular boy band, New Kids on the Block was probably one of your guilty pleasures. The group disbanded in 1994 after having racked up 80 million record sales and numerous top 10 hits.
After several unsuccessful attempts at a reunion, the band’s original members - Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Walhlberg, and Danny Wood - are performing together again and tonight, their tour stops in at the War Memorial Arena (515 Montgomery St.).
The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $45 and $55.
If you’re looking for something a bit bluesier, the Charlie Hunter Trio featuring Erik Kalb on drums pops into the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.) for a 9 p.m. show. Doors open at 8 p.m
Also tonight, John Cadley of the Lost Boys, Tim Burns, Bob Brower, and host Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers perform as part of this month’s Words and Music Songwriter Showcase at the Auburn Public Theater (108 Genesee St., Auburn). Music starts at 7:39 p.m. and tickets are $10.
Students from Manlius-Pebble Hill High School, including Nick Frenay and Noah Kellman, take the stage at The Redhouse (201 West St.) at 8 p.m. Admission is free.
