Fundraiser for Nicole Piper Adams Sunday

medium_nicolegjw.JPGThe friends and family of Marcellus resident Nicole Piper Adams have organized a fundraiser on Sunday, March 29,  to help defray medical expenses and assist in making her home more accessible.

The event, which takes place at the Pepsi International Pavilion on the grounds of the New York State Fairground, will feature live music from That 70s Band and Post Burrito Depression , along with a DJ. There will also be games, raffles, food, beverages, and door prizes.  The fundraiser starts at 1 p.m. and admission is $15.

In May 2007, Nicole, now 26, was diagnosed with non-malignant brain tumor. She was four months pregnant with her second child, and although doctors wanted to operate immediately, Nicole chose to postpone surgery until her baby was born. In the interim, the tumor doubled in size, and once the baby was born and Nicole agreed to surgery, complications occurred that resulted in her becoming paralyzed and unable to speak.

After spending months at a rehabilitation center, Nicole is now home with her parents in Marcellus. She is making progress, but still has a long way to go towards her recovery.  The situation is more difficult in that Nicole’s husband and two children are living in Lakeport.

Click here for more on Nicole’s story from syracuse.com or here for a Post-Standard video.

Donations can also be mailed to: Benefit for Nicole (Piper) Adams, PO Box 112, Marcellus, NY 13108. Please make any checks out to: Nicole C. Adams Trust.

For tickets or more information call any of the following phone numbers: 315-430-3361, 315-673-2882, 315-445-2185
